I had the feeling the children did not understand who God is. One four year-old made reference to “listening to the god” and “pleasing the gods”. Marcie and I felt the battle being raged for the souls of these children. Satan has a hold right now, and that has to change.

During snack one day I went to Felicia and chatted with her. All of a sudden she told me that she loves learning about God. Then she showed me her Bible and said, “I read it almost every night before I go to sleep.” This 11 year old reads her Bible faithfully, not because she has to, but because she wants to. A child who is more devoted to God than many adults.
— Marcie
It was great how many of the kids were thirsty for God. They loved to hear about Him and were amazed when they learned that they could live with God not just for a thousand years, but for forever. They wanted to know about Him and asked lots of questions. The interest on their part was definitely a real highlight for me.

All in all I thought the summer went extremely well. God came through with flying colors and everything turned out great! Four kids came to the Lord! As well, I grew in my own faith in huge leaps and bounds this summer, learning to both listen for God and to trust him.
