Cross Puzzle Gospel Activity

Cut
out the pieces from the pattern strips. Each strip will make a cross as well
as a number of other patterns. Foam sheets work well for this. Cut at least
one strip from each of the 5 colors of the wordless book and then mix and
match the pieces so each set is made up of the wordless book
colors rather than just one individual color. (If you have
access to a paper cutter it works well to cut the
strips. Cutting the pieces is then quite simple by placing a paper pattern
over top.)
Suggested patterns are provided to challenge the children Let the kids try to make up some of their own patterns as well.
Cut out a larger pattern and use it to present the story of the wordless book to your class. Then give them their own to play with. They can make the cross as well as the other patterns so while they are figuring out the patterns and challenging their friends they can tell the story of the wordless book, presenting the gospel.
If you take a #9 size envelope and glue a piece of felt to the front, it makes a good surface to play on as well as a handy packet for the pieces and the pattern templates.
Other appropriate pieces can be added at a later date such as the images from a heaven & how tract with paper towel on the pack so they will stick.
